Protect Your Skin

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE

Follow these essential guidelines to ensure the best possible waxing experience and results.

  • Hair must be at least 0.5cm

Allow hair to grow to at least half a centimetre for optimal wax grip and effective removal.

  • Exfoliate 24–48h prior

Gently exfoliate 1–2 days before to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.

  • Avoid creams, oils or tanning products

Skip lotions, oils, and tanning products on the day of treatment.

  • Wear loose clothing

Choose comfortable clothes to avoid irritation after waxing.

POST-TREATMENT CARE

Proper aftercare ensures smooth skin for longer.

  • Avoid heat for 24–48h

Avoid hot baths, saunas, and sun exposure.

  • No exfoliation for 5 days

Let skin heal before exfoliating again.

  • Apply aloe or calming balm

    Wear breathable cotton underwear.

Waxing during pregnancy is safe when performed by a trained professional

Pre Wax Tips

  • A good rule of thumb is to plan your wax every 3-4 weeks. We advise you don’t shave in between but if you do, come at least three weeks after using a razor or the hair may be too short for waxing.
  • Taking a warm shower before your appointment helps to open the pores.
  • Skip the lotion, gels and oils on the day of your appointment.
  • While we aim to minimize the ouch, some clients prefer to pop an ibuprofen 30 minutes before their wax.
  • Stay away from alcoholic beverages and sunbathing before your wax.
  • Do a quick body scan to ensure your skin is free from any cuts, moles, skin tags or sores.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should my hair be before waxing?

At least 0.5 cm long — roughly a grain of rice. This length ensures the wax can grip the hair effectively for complete removal from the root.

Does waxing hurt?

Minimal discomfort, especially with our technique and premium wax. Our experienced therapists use methods to reduce sensitivity and make the experience as comfortable as possible.

How long does waxing last?

Typically 3–5 weeks. Results vary based on individual hair growth cycles, but regular waxing helps extend the time between treatments as hair becomes finer.

Can I wax while on my period?

Yes, just wear a tampon or menstrual cup. Many clients find they’re more sensitive during their cycle, but our therapists are experienced in providing comfortable treatments during this time.

Can I tan before/after waxing?

Avoid tanning 24–48h before and after. Tanned or sunburnt skin is more sensitive and prone to irritation during waxing treatments.

Can I shave between waxes?

Avoid shaving, it disrupts growth and makes next wax worse. Shaving changes the hair growth cycle and can make subsequent waxing treatments more difficult and painful.

Is waxing suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes — we use low-temp, hypoallergenic wax. Our premium wax formulations are specifically chosen for sensitive skin types and applied at optimal temperatures to minimise irritation.

Can I wax while pregnant?

Yes — it’s safe. Just let your therapist know. Our trained therapists can adjust techniques and positioning to ensure comfort and safety throughout your pregnancy

How to prevent ingrown hairs?

Exfoliate 2–3x/week and moisturise daily. Regular gentle exfoliation helps prevent dead skin from trapping new hair growth, while daily moisturising keeps skin soft and supple

How soon before a holiday should I wax?

Book 2–3 days before. This allows any minor redness or sensitivity to subside completely, ensuring you look and feel your best for your holiday.

Is it safe to wax breakout areas?

We avoid active breakouts and customise treatment. Our therapists will work around any sensitive areas and adjust the treatment plan to ensure your comfort and safety.

Can I go to the gym after waxing?

Avoid heavy sweating or steam for 24–48h. Wait before intense workouts, hot yoga, or steam rooms to prevent irritation and allow your skin to recover properly.

How much does waxing cost?

Prices range depending on area. Our competitive rates reflect our premium service quality and experienced therapists. Contact us for detailed pricing on specific treatments.

Is waxing better than shaving?

Yes, smoother skin, less regrowth, no razor bumps. Waxing removes hair from the root, resulting in slower regrowth, finer hair texture, and elimination of common shaving problems like cuts and irritation

How often should I wax?

Every 4–6 weeks for best results. Regular waxing helps synchronise hair growth cycles, making treatments more effective and comfortable over time while maintaining consistently smooth skin.
